Part of What I've been Buzzing about: A Summary

Met an old friend at a choco shop who treated me to nice sweet goodies
Pre-boss birthday, where we were preparing to perform
On the boss birthday, where we performed our own version of Diamond cover by Rihanna hahaha
On MS's last day of work where we ate Two Days One night at Beauty World and it was pretty disappointing
Passed by this nice but loooooong quote somewhere in the West!
Jalan Kayu. The skies here invariably create complex patterns.
For B's birthday. Happy birthday. You're a very rich girl. By rich I mean rich in giving your love to people you care about :)
Finally meeting up with her at D Good Ol Cafe. pretty good food without GST and Service charge.

Company BBQ with the fellows.
A hiding tower at Raffles.

It's Jo's last day at work today! He's been an annoying fellow but still always silly in his antics making me, M and S laugh at work.

Went to West Coast for the first time and tried Sichuan's mala delicacies and I tried pig intestine for the first time D: I can be quite brave!

Currently reading: And the Mountains Echoed
Khaled hosseini never fails to amaze.
Some people make me think, do i really know you?
or even, have I actually ever really known you?

Nutshell

"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you're bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted."

Mitch Albom

Haven't been feeling literary of late- caught up with work!

Pleated skies from the morning was beautiful! :)

Sometimes the things in my head are just far too huge, too heavy; to be put into simple words.

Sometimes happiness comes most unexpectedly

Havent felt so happy in ages!

Today was my work's boss' birthday!

The interns had to perform and we sang our own editted version of Diamonds by Rihanna.
Joseph and Jun played the guitar, Ridz the drum, Minsheng, Kelly and Julian the singers and me the violin!
It was my first time playing officially in a "band" that was formed in 2 days. hahaha.
I enjoyed myself greatly during that few minutes and I am so thankful for our mentors for giving us this chance!
Never felt so happy playing the violin before.
I felt the rhythm pumping through my veins and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 minutes performance.

I learnt that some things dont have to be really bigggg or grand.
Sometimes the most memorable things can come your way most unexpectedly,
when you least foresee it.

Will post photos if I get them.

But anyhow...
the best photos are the ones in your heart. :-)

Sometimes it's not the place you want to capture, it's the moment

Lookin through old photos in Lyon. Missin the vast waters and the serenity that seemed to form a second skin over its surface.

This photo is I can say, my favourite moment in Lyon. For it wasn't a picture perfect posed photo. I remember I had to chase her up and down, follow her ridiculous but child like movements jumping from terraced step to another, gasping for breath in the chilly weather(it was my first time in such a chilly climate). Then she had me lie down on the grass, which is something I could never do in Singapore without getting a possible heatstroke in this sweltering weather. This picture had its edges black for I had to take a photo very quickly, before she ran off. It was a moment I wanted to capture, a moment of pure silliness and youth, without a thought of others.

Anyways, no more reminiscing!  Back to work tomorrow.
Hopefully it'll be a good week ahead filled with new learning experiences!

I hear the Water Dreaming

Went to my first The Philharmonic Orchestra concert! Thanks Yiyang for the opportunity, I enjoyed it! The last song (or the second last?) was memorable for there was the loud pizzicato that awoken my senses to a whole new level hahaha.

And hence went to SOTA for the first time and was overwhelmed by their architecture. I think now I understand the true meaning of framing views. I was really struck by it at first sight.

Also really liked the expansive volumes introduced when walking into the public atrium!

It was a night that made me appreciate these rare architecture found in Singapore, and also left me inspired to learn more musical instruments..

On a mission

Have been on a journey of self discovery and self realisation.

And I guess this journey will never end! Also on a mission to find out the true meaning of happiness.

Hope I find my answer;
And in my quest,
be a better and more fulfilled person

Streams

Along our journeys it'd be inevitable that some part of us may die or fade away like an old loyal lightbulb that has begun flickering

But I guess what'd make us better and stronger individuals would be the things we continue to nourish our bodies, hearts and souls as all things happen for a reason or another

A void
Voids happen, I guess for people to realise their mistakes and their wrong doings like how a child would know never to eat too big mouthfuls of food at a time
Voids happen, I guess as well, for new colourful things enter and shine
However the outline of a void will always be there as a reminder of what has been left behind

Feeling in the mood to write!

Have been doing some things I'd never done in my entire Sch term:
Walking from Macritchie Rsvr to Bishan
Swimming
Buying novels
Seeking solace in violin

Shall end
